Spring Break in New Orleans

Hi Everyone!
Here are some pictures to supplement that long email I sent all of you.

The state of our duplexes on the first day of work.

The whole BC group on our last day of work.

Me using the circ saw. I'm basically a professional now

My arm is still a little sore from hammering so much :)
Me and the other Elena from Northeastern University putting up a support beam for the roof over the porch

Me with some new friends I made. Coincidentally, we all wore the same shirt one day. The other schools were amazed by how much BC apparel and gear we all had--from hats to sweatpants to water bottles to flip flops. We have a lot of school pride!!! :)

Just handed the keys to their new houses. so happy.

you can kind of get a feel of the vibe of the neighborhood--so colorful and cheerful

lunchtime neighborhood jam session

another view of the colorful habitat houses in the musicians village

there were so many stairs that led to nowhere. so eerie.

driveways with no houses

this is what many of the houses in the lower 9th ward still look like

most of the schools in the 9th ward have not reopened. this one has not even changed its sign since katrina hit.
